摘要

In this paper we present an overview of finite element methods that have recently been developed for the numerical simulation of two-phase incompressible flow problems. We only consider the fluid dynamics, modeled by the Navier-Stokes equations with a surface tension force at the interface. We discuss a finite element discretization of the level set equation, the discretization of surface tension both for the case of a clean and a viscous interface, and an extended finite element method for approximation of the discontinuous pressure variable.
