When the Quebec based company took over BC's Crestbrook Forest Industries, it maintained the high level of commitment to customers, employees and the community. When Tembec Inc. acquired the assets of Crestbrook Forest Industries (CFI) in Cranbrook, BC, in 1999, they had big shoes to fill, Crestbrook was well recognized locally for community involvement, and for being committed to employees and area contractors. With manufacturing operations in Canada, the United States, and France, Temiscaming, QC,based Tembec is a major player in the forest products industry, but they were relatively unknown in the Cranbrook area.
