Five young engineers have received the best possible start to their careers by becoming the first apprentices in Wales to achieve full membership of prestigious professional body, the Institution of Incorporated Engineers (IIE) through an IIE-approved Modern Apprenticeship course. The five recently completed their training programmes through Training Services Wales (TSW) Ltd, the first Welsh training organisation to be approved by the IIE. This means that apprentices who qualify with TSW can now gain professional status with IIE as Engineering Technicians and are entitled to use the letters Eng Tech after their names. To mark the completion of their training, the apprentices attended a 'conversion' course at TSW's Bridgend headquarters, where they received certificates from IIE Training Advisor, Roy Warden.
