摘要

The Hosoya index of a graph is defined as the total number of the match-ings, including the empty edge set, of the graph. The Merrifield-Simmons index of agraph is defined as the total number of the independent vertex sets, including the emptyvertex set, of the graph. Let u(n, Δ)be the set of connected unicyclic graphs ordern with maximum degree Δ. We consider the Hosoya indices and the Merrifield-Simmonsindices of graphs from u(n, Δ).In this paper, we characterize the graphs in u(n, Δ) withthe maximal Hosoya index and the minimal Merrifield-Simmons index, respectively, anddetermine the corresponding indices.
