Cyclic/hold creep-fatigue properties for the new advanced 9-11 percent Cr steels are reviewed and shown to be significantly superior to those of 1 percent CrMoV turbine steels at 550 deg C. Moreover, cyclic/hold endurances for the creep resistant martensitic stainless steels at 600 deg C are at least as good as those for 1 percent CrMoV turbine steels at 550 deg C.An assessment of the creep-fatigue damage interaction characteristics of Grade 91 steel shows them to be no worse than those of 1 percent CrMoV turbine steels at their respective maximum application temperatures.
