As concerns build of an overcapacity in the OCTG markets in North America, many point to the current overcapacity in the domestic large OD linepipe market as warningthat market prospects will weaken in the nearterm. Of the five HSAW mills built in 2007-2010, at least two of them are runningatvery low rates or are idled atthe moment waitingfor projects to be approved. MBR has also heard that much ofthe tonnage from these mills is beingsold into non-energy applications.
