Russian large diameter pipe production reached a new historical record of 391kt in March 2015, this followed a couple of months where production had dipped from the previous high that was seen in Dec 2014. January and February 2015 production numbers stood at 333 and 286 kt accordingly (see char). Linepipe utilisation rates, especially in the large diameter market remains high for all domestic producers supported by continuing shipments for a number of local projects indudingthe South Corridor, Bovanenkovo - Ukhta and the Power of Siberia. Outside of Russia, in the wider CIS market, there has been a decline in demand for large-diameter linepipe from the Central Asia region, but for most producers it is well compensated by strong demand in Russia.
