A bullish factor on the supply side of the tin market this year has been the heavy decline in Chinese exports which has helped to offset the oversupply from SE Asia.However, latest trade data suggest that Chinese exports of refined tin and alloys have now risen for four consecutive months reaching 4,486 tonnes in June, their highest monthly level of the year. This trend is due to higher LME prices, where monthly averages have also shown consecutive increases since February. Nevertheless, at 19,326 tonnes, exports for the January-June period are still 45 percent down on those of the same period last year.
