With the support of the Air Force Surgeon General, a cadre of 7 individuals traveled to Beijing, China, during October 20-27, 2012, to participate in a unique military-medical academic exchange focusing on the contemporary applications of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in general, and acupuncture in particular. The trip represented the culmination of a longstanding invitation for Dr. Niemtzow to teach his Battlefield Acupuncture (BFA) technique to members of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA). Although the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine (BUCM) extended the official invitation, one of the primary purposes of this trip was to promote good will between the two nations. What follows is a brief summary of some of the highlights of our journey.
