The medical school selection process is a complex phenomenon and yet a matter of continuous debate. Medical schools need selection procedures that are evidence based and legally-defensible (McManus et al. 2005). Cun-ent selection methods in medical schools emphasize the academic competence, somewhat to the detriment of other essential competencies. A selection method can only be justifiable for usage if it proves to be reliable across several cohorts of candidates and if it predicts the performance later on.
