摘要

While the use of complementary and alternative medicines (CAM) is prevalent throughout many parts of the world, it is estimated that only about 7.4% of CAM is evidence-based (Ernst 2011). For healthcare professionals, the lack of well-designed randomised controlled trials adds difficulty to decision-making. Although it is essential to base clinical decisions on the best available evidence, if the best available evidence is weak, it introduces the risk of recommending useless or even harmful interventions.
