摘要

Lead has a melting point of 327.5 deg C and a boiling point of 1751 deg C. It vaporizes rapidly at relatively low temperatures. The vapor pressure of lead is 5 mm Hg at 1100 deg C and 244 mm Hg at 1550 deg C. Lead is oxidized to PbO when heated in air; and it can be oxidized to PbO_2 when it vaporizes at the temperature of liquid steel. Most compounds of lead are toxic. The greatest danger is posed by lead dust and lead vapor [1, 2]. Lead is rated as a class T hazard, so its concentration in the air at work stations is strictly regulated [3]. The maximum permissible concentrations (according to USSR and Russian Federation standards) are as follows: 0.01 mg/m~3 in the air at work stations; 0.003 mg/m~3 in the atmosphere; 0.03 mg/liter in water; 20 mg/kg in soil [1].
