摘要

The Heavy Industries Corporation of Malaysia (HICM) incorporated Hicom Engineering Sdn Bhd in 1984 as part of its corporate aim to pilot Malaysia's industrialisation program. Hicom now produces high quality cast iron components for various manufacturing industries - particularly the automobile, motorcycle and heavy equipment sector. HICM aimed to position Hicom as a premier manufacturer of high grade cast iron products. To achieve this, a Process Technology Agreement was signed with a leading cast iron foundry process consultant in the UK. This agreement, the first of its kind in the ASEAN region, saw the induction of the process technology at the plant, plus assistance in foundry management by a team of experts from the partner company.
