In March this year, ACESCO (Acerias de Colombia S.A.), Barranquilla placed the order with Ebner Furnaces, Inc. Ohio, USA to equip the annealing plant of the cold rolling mill to be built with a Hicon/H2 bell annealer facility. The new facility comprises four Hicon/H2 workbases plus inner covers, two heating bells, two colling bells, plus combined air/water cooling as well as the associated peripheral equipment including a Central Operating Ststem (COS). The total annealing capacity amounts to 80 000t/yr. The major share in annealed steel coils are commercial qualities (CQ) with a maximum coil weight of 24t. With that, ACESCO went one step further in order to produce in house cold strip qualities which were formerly bought-in. The hydrogen-operating facility for bright annealing is to achieve full production in the second quarter of 1996.
