More than 30 percent savings in tool design times for complex tools have been made by Hanson Thorpe of Oldham, using Cimatron, an integrated CAD/CAM package supplied by Cadmes UK Ltd. Hanson Thorpe specialises in complex tooling for all types of plastic moulding operations, including multi-shot tools for complex components using combinations of rigid and flexible materials. The business first invested in Cimatron systems in June 2000 and has now extended the CAD/CAM facility by installing additional seats for use throughout the 3D Moldbase design and electrode manufacturing process.
