The Australian Transport and Logistics industry (T&L) is facing great challenges, in the post GFC market the margins are under pressure. Rising fuel prices and increased competition have had a strong impact on profitability, but at the same time the national freight task set to double by 2030. The provision of improved infrastructure is part of the planned solution to conquer these challenges. But infrastructure alone will not be enough, the industry will need to embrace the use of technology to achieve higher efficiency.
