23 April 2007 - Arcelor Mittal, Luxembourg finalized the acquisition of Sicartsa, a Mexican integrated steel producer with a capacity of approx. 2.7 million t/a, from Grupo Villacero. The acquisition includes a facility at Lazaro Cardenas, next to Arcelor Mittal's Lazaro Cardenas works, the mini-mill Metaver, two rolling mills at Sibasa and Camsa (all Mexico) and the mini-mill Border Steel in Texas (USA). MOSCOW. 24 April 2007 - Following the acquisition of OM Group's nickel business MMC Norilsk Nickel, Moscow (Russia) expects following production figures in 2007: nickel 270-275,000 t/a, copper 404-409,000 t/a, palladium 93-95 t/a and platinum around 22 t/a. The stated production volumes do not include production figures of Stillwater Mining Company.
