The charming French village of Ste-Marie-aux-Mines has hosted the one of the largest international mineral shows in the world for the past thirty (30) years, growing steadily from a small venue to the a "must go" event each summer. Only the Munich show attracts more clients to a European mineral event. Because of severe overcrowding and the accompanying safety concerns, new local regulations were formed, and the show;s long-time promoter, Michel Schwab of Mineral Concepts SARL, elected to move the show to larger, more modern facilities in nearby Colmar, beginning officially in 2014. Subsequent pressure by the local Ste-Marie government this past year, Mr. Schwab elected to accelerate the move to Colmar to 2012.
