摘要

The Badu Hill pegmatite is located about 4 miles west-southwest of Buchanan Dam and about 4.5 miles southwest of the former Baringer Hill which is now under Lake Buchanan. Badu Hill is on private land about 13 miles east of Llano. The pegmatite is exposed on a low hill and is approximately 700 feet long in an east-west direction and about 350 feet wide (King 1982). The country rock is Packsaddle Schist that occurs in an elongate 0.5 mile wide, east -west trending zone in coarse-grained granite (Chelf 1942). Barnes (1976) calls this metamorphic area a septum between the Lone Grove and Town Mountain plutons. He reported that the pegmatite is surrounded by a thick peripheral zone of graphic granite.
