At its meeting on Feb. 14,2015, the SME Board of Di-rectors voted unanimously to approve the creation of the SME Health & Safety Division. It is the first new SME Division since the Environmental Division was added in 1997. The creation of the Health & Safety Division elevates the status of health and safety within the Society and will provide a division home for health and safety profession-als. The division will create unique programming, awards, publications and will continue to work to forge relation-ships with outside groups with the aim of attracting new members to SME. It will also create unique programming opportunities that currently do not exist.
