摘要

High-pressure roll grinding will become an important optimization tool for new and existing gold operations. It may eventually replace one or two crashing stages, rod mills and downsized ball mill circuits. And, in specific cases, it may replace SAG mills. Several key features of high-pressure roll grinding have been identified for gold operations. On the metallurgical side, they include microfracturing, lower Bond Work Index, increased cyanide permeability and better gold extractions. From an operational standpoint, the key features are low wear, high availability, push-button control for size and throughput and easy operation. From an economic standpoint, high-pressure roll grinding features lower energy requirements, lower wear steel costs, reasonable equipment costs, low installation costs, low space requirements, proven technology and performance guarantees. Metal-mining companies are beginning to recognize that high-pressure roll grinding provides the potential for improvements in comminution efficiency.
