Table 1 indicates that the D11R achieved a productivity increase of from 20 percent to 35 percent using the GPS system. With about the same amount of material to move in both test sites, the blind study resulted in twice as much rehandled mispush. The test area using the GPS system was 30 percent closer to final volume completion. Keeping in mind that both tests were conducted for only one week each under ideal conditions, an estimated 500,000 dollars in cost savings could be achieved annually based on leveling 190 hm~2 (470 acres) to final grade.
