I want to thank you for the opportunity to attend the 2005 RETC in Seattle. I met people from all parts of the tunneling industry and gained priceless knowledge on where to take the next step in my underground career. There are a few things I would recommend to enhance the RETC scholarship program. The program should contact other societies at the universities, such as ASCE and ISEE. There may be groups within those societies that have an interest in the tunneling industry. Make the scholarship available to students in the fall prior to the conference. Setup a mentoring program for the scholarship recipients. We talked with Gary Almeraris and others at the conference, which made it a much better experience.
