AHEAD OF THE African National Congress' (ANC) national committee meeting in 2012 is a growing call for the nationalization of the nation's mines from the youth league of the ANC. The Wall Street Journal reported that Neren Rau, the chief executive of the South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry, spoke out about this movement, saying the debate is causing investors to shy away from putting needed capital into the country at a time when the European Union crisis will start to have an impact on developing country economies.
