The Mineral Information Institute has released a new education program to help classroom teachers present the required rocks and minerals science curriculum. The program helps students realize that our lifestyle depends on our mineral resources. The new Rock Odyssey program combines an educational video by Media Inc. of Pennsylvania with new curriculum materials from the institute. These materials meet state and national science standards fro earth science education. Rock Odyssey includes a 30-minute video and a 32-page teacher's guide with activities, lessons, two color posters and student pages. The program provides a complete rocks and minerals curriculum for elementary grades.
