Minera Chinalco Peru S.A. has chosen ABB to supply electrification and automation systems for a new copper mine and concentrator plant. The order is worth 50 million dollars. The processing plant at Toro-mocho will be located at an altitude of 4,500 m (14,700 ft) in central Peru, in the Morococha mining district 140 km (87 miles) east of Lima. The concentrator will produce approximately 907 kt/a (1 million stpy) of copper concentrate, by product silver and molybdenum trioxidc.
