The UCA of SME Division has awarded three $5,000 scholarships. Andrew Carey and Ryan King received a check and certificate at the North American Tunneling conference in June in Indianapolis,IN. Lee Gagnon received his award at the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology. ANDREW CAREY is a junior at the University of Utah majoring in mining engineering. He has served as historian/treasurer of the SME student chapter at Utah and helped organize field trips to local mines and attended the 2012 Annual Meeting in Denver, CO.
