Allan P. Juhas is an economic geologist with a discovery record. He has domestic and international experience in mineral economics, management, project evaluation and generative reconnaissance through definition-stage exploration. He has served as an officer and director in various start-up, junior and major mining companies, such as Inco and Texasgulf. Juhas currently offers consulting services in strategic planning, generating plays, evaluating, designing and supervising programs and the training of foreign professionals in North American mapping and exploration procedures.Juhas earned a B.S. with honors and a Ph.D. in economic geology, both from the University of Manitoba. He is a member of the American Institute of Professional Geologists, the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum, the Denver Region Exploration Geologists Society (DREGS) and the Society of Economic Geologists (SEG). He has also served as liaison between SEG and SME. Currently, he serves on SME's GEM Committee and chairs SEG's worldwide scholarship program for economic-geology graduate students. Juhas was honored as the 1999 distinguished lecturer of the DREGS.
