摘要

The Federation of European Mining and Mineral Education Programs (FEMP) held its first annual meeting and reunion at the Technical University of Aachen. It discussed the future development of the program and its extension to other parts of Europe. The program included 70 alumni and current university students and 30 industry representatives.This unique international program is offered to fourth-year mining and minerals engineering students at the Technical Universities of Aachen (Germany), Delft (the Netherlands), Helsinki (Finland) and London (England). Over a period of eight months, two groups of 15-20 students each spend two months in Helsinki, London, Aachen and Delft They take courses, in English, in either mining or minerals engineering. The program has attracted exchange students from Canada, the United States, Australia, Argentina, Chile, Poland and Spain.
