LKAB, an international high-tech minerals group based in Sweden, has decided on the construction of a new main haulage level for the iron ore mine in Kiruna, Sweden. The investment is the single largest in the company's history. Ola Johnsson, president and chief executive officer of LKAB, said that this is in line with the company's long term strategy and it backs up investments totaling about SEK 20 billion dollars that has already made in facilities at surface level, thereby securing LKAB's continued operation in the ore fields.
