Coeur d'Alene Mines got closer to putting its San Bartolome silver mine into full production in Bolivia by intro-ducing ore to the mill.The San Bartolome Mine is ex-pected to be the largest pure silver mine in the world when it reaches full capacity of 280 t/a (9 million oz/year).Coeur d'Alene president and chief executive officer Dennis Wheeler said the mine is expected to produce 186 t (6 million oz) of silver this year.San Bartolome is expected to add almost 40 percent to the group's output this year already, Wheeler said.The firm also has two other de-velopment projects in the pipeline, the Palmarejo silver/gold project in Mexico, and the Kensington mine, in Alaska.A third party review of the feasibility study on Palmarejo is expected to be completed by mid-year, with first production targeted in the first half of 2009.Coeur is aiming for a yearly output of about 326 t (10.5 mil-lion oz) of silver and some 3.6 t (115,000 oz) of gold from Pal-marejo.
