Nottinghamshire County Council has allowed variations to a permission for the recovery of coal fines at Rufford Colliery, near Mansfield, including an extension to the end date by two years until September 2018. The application related to two areas of Rufford Colliery that had previously received permission, together with an additional nine hectares of land, which would extend the coal fines storage, processing, blending and dispatch area.
