The Planning Officers' Society has elected David Hackforth,Milton Keynes' head of planning, as its new president. Hackf orth had been senior vice president since May 2008 and inherits the position from Phil Kirby, Broadland District Council chief planner.Stephen Tapper, Enfield Borough Council assistant director of place shaping and enterprise, will become senior vice president. Speaking at the AGM, Hackforth said: "My aim for the year is to build on the work of my predecessors in raising the profile of the society and its contribution to better planning".
