The Peak District National Park Authority has concluded that an application to continue operations at Dale View quarry, near Matlock, without complying with several conditions attached to a consent granted in 2008, is in the public interest. The quarry lies on the western side of the Derwent Valley on the hillside that formed Stanton Moor. Dale View was one of two active gritstone quarries lying adjacent to each other, separated by a strip of unworked land. A consent in 2008 allowed the continued working of the quarry, together with an three-hectare extension to the west.
