Quarries are the most hated form of development, according to the findings of a recent survey by Nick Keable from DI Tracker in this month's issue. Nimby-ism, he found, is at an all-time high. Meanwhile, three out of four people surveyed oppose any form of quarry, although some would put up with fracking in their backyard.Anything but a quarry. Yet the industry has never behaved more responsibly towards the environments from which all those vital minerals are drawn.
