1998 saw Adax Fabrikker AS celebrating its 50th anniversary. Started out as a manufacturer of household appliances, the Norwegian company soon progressed into a 'hot business' the development and production of electric heaters. In 1993, Adaxbecame part of the Glamox group, a powerful organisation operating in the marine/offshore, land lighting and heating sectors. As it stands now, Adax generates the lion's share of Glamox's sales in the heating business. The company's profitability andmanufacturing excellence convinced the parent group to concentrate all of its heater production activities in Svelvik in a recent reorganisation scheme.
