摘要

The fire that devastated King's Cross Underground Station in London in 1992 and killed 60 men and women has greatly increased people's awareness of the dangers of smoke and fire and triggered off a strong demand for fire alarm systems. For Dicon Safety Products (UK) Ltd., the UK subsidiary of a Canadian manufacturer, the 1992 incident led to a decisive breakthrough. "It is only a question of time before fire safety becomes obligatory in Europe," says Managing Director George Driscoll. "True to our motto: 'Dicon makes your life safer' we specialize in smoke alarms, heat alarms and carbon monoxide alarms. At the same time, we feel that promoting fire protection is part of our social responsibility. By supporting the use of fire alarm systems, we contribute to the development of the fire safety market with the ultimate aim of making homes safer."
