For me it all started few months ago (that was July 2013) when a chap called in at the Claymills Victorian Pumping station one Thursday morning, calmly mentioning that he had a few 'bits n pieces' in the back of his car we might find of use on the site. For some years he had been a keen live steam enthusiast but unfortunately, with failing health had been forced to curb his passions so he kindly offered us a few items from his store of materials. The items were broadly as follows: a 3 foot length of 2 inch diameter brass bar, a sheet of 3 x 2 feet x 1/8 inch thick brass, along with another sheet approximately 2 feet x 18 inches x 1/8 inch brass plus similar sized ones of both copper and stainless steel, along with other 'useful items' and for which we all on the site thank him again; he may even be reading this article!
