Here and there, alongside the canals that criss-cross the lowlands of the UK, you will occasionally see a hand crane. They include a bewildering variety of detail and it seems as though there are no two the same. This model represents a modestly sized crane rated at 15 cwt. (three-quarters of a ton or 750kg), which can be seen in a partially restored state in Staffordshire.
