摘要

The scientifically sound assessment of soil agiophysical properties is forced now by necessity to develop landscape-adapted approaches in present-day land use and to make quantitative forecasts [1]. The hydrological and physical soil properties related to water permeability determine the penetration of rainfall and irrigation water into the soil, formation of the surface and soil runoff, intensity of water erosion, etc. Soil water permeability is commonly measured for one typical soil pit, and the results obtained are extrapolated over vast areas, The feasibility of such procedure has not aroused any doubts until recently, Soil water permeability is known to have a prominent spatial and temporal variability. The changes in permeability owing to theheterogeneity of various soil properties may be very strong even within a plot with a homogeneous soil cover [2]. Since the quality of soil (as a medium for plants, and agricultural plants, in particular) depends on hydrological and physical soil properties, the study of the spatial pattern of water permeability proves to be very important.
