Within the scope of the joint research project KLIMES, experimental investigations on the levelof human thermal comfort are conducted on typical summer days within different urban struc-tures in the city of Freiburg (SW Germany). Human thermal comfort is identified by the physio-logically equivalent temperature PET. With respect to the influence of urban site characteristicson meteorological and human-biometeorological variables, the PET behaviour for an E-W streetcanyon in July 2007 is analysed as a case study, but with general results. Differences in the levelof human thermal comfort between the opposite sidewalks of the street canyon are included.
