Shanghai-based Special Steel Branch of Baoshan Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. (BSSB) plans the construction of a new cold rolling complex for the production of high-performance strip products. The core components of the new plant will be supplied by SMS Siemag AG: a continuous annealing line, a continuous pickling line and a 20-roll cold rolling mill. These plants will be used to produce strip of special steel grades, such as high-nickel and high-titanium alloys as well as special high-grade steels. Commissioning of the facilities is scheduled to take place in early 2010.
