In late November, the Environmental Protection Agency took action to reinstate the tolerance for diazinon residues on mushrooms at 0.75 ppm, which will stay in effect until September 10, 2010. This means that growers may make legal applications of diazinon as long as the diazinon product is labeled with mushroom use directions. Also, regulatory agencies that test for diazinon residues will not take any action against shippers, as long as the residues are below 0.75 ppm.
