The Government is expecting that the systemof reverse bidding, which it has introduced inthe e-auction of coal blocks meant for the powersector, will lead to a windfall of Rs 37,000 crore byway of tariff cut to end users. Sources involvedin the process, said that in order to ensure thatthe benefi ts of power tariff cut gets passed onto the common consumer, amendments havebeen eff ected in the tender documents whichthe bidders are submitting for the e-auction ofcoal blocks.
