A controlled technique for embedding ferromagnetic nanoparticles in a diamagnetic PVC matrix with uniform dispersion and a wide particle concentration range is described here. The resulting material is a magnetopolymeric nanocomposite with combined magnetic and polymeric properties. The tailoring of its magnetic response can be tuned through the control of nearly spherical Co80Ni20 nanoparticles around 65 nm average diameter, prepared by the polyol method, and their concentration in the matrix (in the range 0.5-50 wt%). This material is nearly ready for practical applications.
