The paper focuses on the growth form and highly variable characters of calicular morphology of the coralla of the Anisian scleractinian species Eckastraea prisca (WEISSERMEL, 1925) from the Lower Muschelkalk in the Silesian region (SW Poland). The shape of the colonies and the variability of the distal corallite structure are explained in terms of the changing environmental factors and by phenotypic plasticity of corals.
