The Iranian market for square billet is gradually recovering. In spite of the fact that demand for longs has got weaker ahead of Iranian New Year and prices for them have rolled back, some stockists have started purchasing import square billet in advance. They expect a pick-up in buying activity in the segments for semi-finished and finished longs by mid-April. However, a number of trading companies, although willing to restock, have been forced to remain out of the market as they have had problems getting credit in the holiday period.
