In 2005, GE launched ecomagination - a commitment to technological solutions that benefit the company's customers and reduce environmental impacts - and the program recently got a significant boost. GE Chief Executive Jim Immelt says the company will be investing $10 billion for clean technology research and development by 2020. The company, he added, has invested $12 billion in ecomagination R&D and is on track to boost that figure to $15 billion by 2015.
