摘要

The assumptions and statements in the article by Slettedal et al.,which reports the findings in two cases with fatal outcomes, stated firmly to be from serotonin toxicity (ST), aka serotonin syndrome, are open to grave doubt and serious criticism. It is unfortunate that the title of the article gives the impression of certainty concerning the diagnosis when such certainty is, in my expert opinion, utterly unwarranted. The text of the article further reinforces this certainty and does not take sufficient account of evidence relating to the definition, characteristics and diagnosis of ST, nor the question of differential diagnosis.
