When evaluating bulk storage facility production goals,numerous strategies can be employed to increase efficiencies,reduce overheads,or otherwise improve the bottom line.Yet one highly effective component that is often overlooked is the matter of bulk silo maintenance.Often viewed as an expense rather than an investment,silo inspection and maintenance are critical factors in optimising facility efficiency and productivity.Many facilities hold bulk product inventory in storage silos until it is required for processing,packaging,or bulk shipping.While this allows materials to be stockpiled as needed,it can contribute to material buildup along interior walls.Overtime,this buildup reduces the overall silo storage capacity and can lead to material compaction.When profits depend on the efficient flow of stored product within the silo,this reduced capacity and restricted inventory cuts into profits.Routine silo inspection and cleaning ensures silos and bins continue operating at their functional capacity.
